GOLD and SILVER Scholarship grants from President University for college education PU will provide annual scholarship grants to academically-gifted and bright individuals from low income backgrounds in order to help them with their college education, while at the same time recognizing their exemplary academic performance in the course of obtaining their degrees.
Based on its financial capability and position, PU will determine how many scholarship grants will be given to students on an annual basis.
The scholarships are valid for a year.
The scholarships may be extended based on an evaluation of the student’s performance.

GRANTS - Scholarships from a sponsoring individual or organization, foreign or local PU welcomes the support of individuals or organizations willing to help financing the college education of students.
PU will abide the terms and conditions set by the sponsoring organization or individual.
In the absence of the sponsor’s terms and conditions, the PU policy on scholarship shall be used as basis for setting the terms and conditions.

Eligibility Requirements - To be eligible for the scholarships, the candidate must fulfill the following requirements:
Graduated from high school with a minimum grade of 7.5 - 8.0
Passed the university placement tests with a Rank 1 rating (minimum 80 marks average during the Entrance Tests).
Comes from a family with a gross annual income of less than Rp 36 million per year* (or its equivalent denomination in foreign currency).

*Reference: Monthly industry minimum wage of Rp. 964.000 per month per capita employment (BPS Economic Indicators, February 2007).
Assume both parents are working.

In order to continue with the scholarships, the student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 per annum. Related terms and conditions apply.

- Safety and Peace.

Persyaratan Pendaftar Beasiswa Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) 2009:
In General, Candidates must :
- Be an Indonesian citizen and not have permanent residence in Australia or New Zealand;
- Not be married or engaged to a person who is eligible to hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residence;
- Satisfy Australian Government requirements for international student entry to Australia (health, character etc);
- Not hold a scholarship that would give similar benefits;
- Not have held an Australian Government Scholarship in the 12 months preceding the application;
- Be applying to commence a new course of study and not be seeking support through ADS for a course already commenced in Australia;
- Be able to take up the scholarship in the year for which it is offered; and
- Satisfy the admission requirements of the Australian tertiary institution in which the course is to be undertaken.

Specifically, Candidates must :
- Be applying for courses that fall within the four areas of development priority (see page below);
- Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.9 (on a scale of maximum 4.0) and an English language proficiency of at least 5.0 in IELTS (or 500 in Institutional TOEFL or 170 in International TOEFL). The IELTS or TOEFL result must be current (a test result obtained in 2007 or 2008 will be considered current);
- Already hold an undergraduate degree, if applying for a Masters;
- Already have a Masters, if applying for a Doctorate;
- Apply for a degree at a level higher than their current highest qualification;
- If applying for a Doctorate, applicants must be staff of universities, higher education institutions, research institutes, key policy makers and targeted candidates in other agencies associated with AusAID activities. It is highly desirable for Doctorate applicants to have a letter of support from an Australian university for their proposed field of study;
- Answer all relevant questions on the application form;
- Be willing and available to take full-time (Monday - Friday, 08.00 - 16.00)English for Academic Purposes(EAP) training in Indonesia prior to studying in Australia, if offered a scholarship;
- Be not older than 42 years old at time of application.

Thus, LB invites applications from high school graduates who wish to pursue bachelor program in the specialty areas of trade, finance, economic, accounting, computer sciences, mathematics, statistics and law.

The scholarship grant will be based on the merits of the applicant, including academic classes and school extracurricular activities. However, in order to provide opportunities for those who could face difficulties in financing their higher education, special attention will be given to applications from students who come from disadvantaged families financially.

I. Requirements:
LB Scholarship Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
(I) must be Indonesian citizens;
(Ii) should complete the application form;
(iii) grade point average to the National average result and points for the secondary school exam result should be 8.00 or higher;
(iv) should be able to prove that they are from disadvantaged families financially, showing an official letter from poverty, from local authorities and home electricity bill;
(c) do not currently receive any scholarship or other equivalent award;
(Vi) English;
(vii) must comply with all rules and regulations imposed by LB in connection with the programme of scholarships;
(viii) Accepted applicants must be willing to participate in any LB programmes and activities, such as the internship program at LB or any of its subsidiaries;
(x) Scholarship recipients are prohibited to work during the entire period of study.

II. Coverage of scholarships:
The scholarship covers the following:
(I) registration fee at the university, at which the recipient of scholarship students;
(ii) tuition fees, duration of training, not more than 4 (four) years, or 8 (eight) academic semester or less depending on the selected program. LB is not obliged to provide any additional funding or other assistance should scholarship recipient does not finish the course in time;
(iii) Living allowance to cover living expenses during the entire period of study;
(Iv) leadership allowance needed for research;
(c) Internet manual for access to the Internet for study purposes;
(Vi) personal computer;
(vii) study aids needed for the final year of study.

III. Payment of scholarship funds:
Scholarship funds should be allocated in the following agreements:
(I) tuition fees must be paid directly to the relevant University;
(ii) Others should be allocated directly to the recipients of scholarships.

Payment of such scholarship funds to be scholarship recipient possibilities:
(I) maintain a satisfactory academic constantly, and
(ii) perform all necessary functions and responsibilities.

IV. Vacation from school
Save for school holidays, scholarship recipients will not accept any interruption in the educational activity without obtaining prior written approval from LB.

V. PENALTIES
(I) if any of the recipients of scholarships decides to withdraw from the fellowship programme, such scholarship recipient must reimburse all funds spent and return all facilities provided during his / her participation in LB in the scholarship programme, including, but not limited to a personal computer;
(ii) any breach of duty, responsibility and any other requirements imposed by LB subject to penalty to be determined by LB and / or termination of funding scholarships.

VI. Duties and responsibilities
Throughout the period of training, scholarship recipient must:
(I) will be ready to comply with all rules and regulations established by LB, as well as university;
(ii) be willing to attend and participate in all LB scholarship or collection activities;
(iii) to take part in LB human capital development programmes, and
(iv) report on the academic and non-academic progress of LB quarterly.

After graduation, scholarship recipients must join LB Alumni Association and actively participate in the program and activities.

VII. TERMINATION scholarship
The fellowship programme should be stopped at the emergence of one of the following:
(I) scholarship recipients completed the training course;
(ii) scholarship recipient refuses or has no ability to continue training in the relevant University;
(iii) scholarship recipient violates or does not perform any of the functions, responsibilities and requirements;
(iv) scholarship recipient is unsuccessful in order to meet the necessary level of achievement;
(c) the recipient of scholarships is proven, provided incorrect or misleading information in the application form or its supporting documents, or
(vi) scholarship recipient is involved in any illegal activities.

VIII. OBLIGATION TO WORK
(I) during the period of training, scholarship recipients must be willing to participate in the internship programme at LB.
(ii) after completion of the usual programs, scholarships recipients are forced to work at LB and / or his affiliation period for 4 consecutive years, subject to the availability of work in LB and / or his affiliation.

The short-term scholarships are distributed in the range period between one to nine months and are reserved primarily for courses in Italian language and culture. Applicants must possess a high school diploma at the time they apply and must be 35 years of age or younger (minimum maturity age is 18 years old for Indonesian citizen).

Italian language and culture courses of a one-month period are reserved for Italian language teachers to whom no age limit applies, and for 3rd year University students in the Italian Studies Department.

The long-term scholarships consist of a nine – to twelve-month period, (depending on the length of the course) beginning in autumn. They are awarded for specific research or specialized courses at public post-secondary institutions in any area of study, except for medical studies. All courses of study must be undertaken at the Government approved educational institutions. Applicants for the long-term scholarships interested in undergraduate research or study must possess a high school diploma entitling the applicant to enroll in university; for those wishing to study or conduct research at the post-graduate level, the minimum requirement is a Master’s degree. Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger (minimum maturity age in Indonesia is 18 years old).

GENERAL INFORMATION

Elements taken into consideration by the Selection Committee are:

- The applicant’s curriculum studiorum and vitae.
- The applicant’s proposed program of study (for post-graduate, master courses and doctorate studies).
- The Reference letters from Indonesian or Italian academics (for post-graduate, master courses and doctorate studies).
- The existence of direct contacts between the candidate and Italian academics and/or institutes of higher learning in the candidate’s field of study (applies particularly to applicants for long-term scholarships) .
- Knowledge of Italian is mandatory; unless the applicant is applying for Italian language courses or applying for an independent study (in this case the candidate must have a letter from a professor declaring willing to follow the student in another language).

Scholarships offered by the Italian Government cover standard living expenses such as boards and lodging expenses, Insurance( valid only in Italian Territory ) , and do not include air fares (return) Please note that scholarship recipients must make their own travel and lodging arrangements. Any partial or total exemption from university fees for scholarship
recipients is the decision of the individual university/ institution; no exemptions are granted by private institutions.

Changes in the place of study or the starting date will not be permitted once the scholarship has been awarded. Applicants must therefore indicate the name of their chosen institution and the dates of the chosen existing course/s clearly and exactly on their application forms.

A core curriculum in philosophy, history, literature, political theory and the visual arts is team-taught by faculty with background in these disciplines.

The core course uses a lecture/seminar/tutorial format, and students learn through discussion in small groups, writing assignments and one-to-one tutorials.

The core course begins with the classic texts of ancient Greece and has a loosely chronological structure through the three terms, with particular focus on selected historical periods.

Key authors who feature in the course include Aristotle, Dante, Descartes, Dostoyevsky, Homer, Hume, Kafka, Kant, Kierkegaard, Machiavelli, Montaigne, Nietzsche, Pascal, Plato and Shakespeare.

Elective courses in a range of disciplines including art history, film theory, literary theory, music and performance art complement the core curriculum.

Students take the core course (six credits), one elective course (three credits) and one foreign language (two credits).

Students who have not mastered German are required to enroll in a German language class, while others may choose between French or Spanish.

The Seeing Berlin component of the program gives students and faculty the opportunity to explore together Berlin’s artistic and architectural treasures.

The program includes visiting the city’s many museums as well as lesser-known public and private collections and galleries.

In addition, faculty organizes visits to concerts, plays, films and lectures.

A one-week study trip to Italy complements the Winter term’s emphasis on the Renaissance.

Students prepare presentations and lead some of the excursions in a practical exercise of the kind of learning in which they engage in the classroom.

The comprehensive fee of 15.000 EUR covering tuition, accommodation and full board, the study trip, public transportation in Berlin, emergency health insurance coverage, books (on loan) and computer and Internet access, is 15.000 EUR.

The project offers international students the possibility to receive a scholarship and other benefits to graduate from the Politecnico di Torino attending a Bachelor of Science (BS) course in Textile Engineering at the Biella campus.

The initiative is promoted by the Politecnico di Torino and is supported by Unione Industriale Biellese, which coordinates the scholarships sponsored by Italian textile companies and associations.

Obtaining a degree at the Politecnico di Torino
To graduate at the Politecnico di Torino, students must attain a total of 180 credits, including exams and the final dissertation. The time required to graduate is approximately 6 semesters. However, the effective duration is also dependent upon each student’s capacity. Note also that the time required for the compulsory Italian course, which will begin in early September, before classes start, is not considered in the estimated duration of the program.

Please note that scholarship recipients must attend their course for its entire length (3 years – 180 credits). Students who have already attended other university courses can ask for a credit transfer up to a maximum of 10 credits per year (30 credits in total). Please note that credits achieved in preparatory courses or in the first year/second year in systems where preuniversity education lasts 10/11 years can not be taken into account.

Applicants will be selected based on their previous academic career and on their Curriculum Vitae.

Amount of the scholarship

• The gross amount of the Biella Campus scholarship is 10.000 Euro per year (30.000 Euro for the complete period). The exact net sum is dependent upon the individual tax conditions of each student, which can be verified only upon the arrival of the student.
• The amount of the scholarship will not be increased in case the student will need more time to graduate than indicated.
• The allocation of the scholarship is dependent upon the submission, within 10 days from the arrival in Italy of the student, of the original documentation, which must correspond with the documentation attached to the online form (see the “Selection outcomes” section on the website).
• Payment of the scholarship occurs periodically. The first instalment is dependent upon the possession of the relevant documentation (residence permit, Italian fiscal code, and bank account in the name of the scholarship recipient), all obtainable upon arrival in Italy; for this reason, the first instalment is not paid at the moment of arrival at the Politecnico di Torino, but in the course of the following month.

Requirements to maintain the scholarship

• Given that it is not possible to combine the benefits received from more than one scholarship, students who are assigned another study grant while receiving the Biella Campus scholarship must promptly notify the Politecnico di Torino.
• Payment of the scholarship will be suspended if the academic performance of the recipient does not meet a satisfactory level.

Setelah melaui proses seleksi, pengumuman hasil seleksi calon penerima beasiswa ini akan diumumkan melalui sekolah-sekolah dan web UI. Keputusan panitia adalah final dan tidak dapat diganggu gugat.

Didukung oleh infrastruktur bisnis Kelompok Usaha Bakrie yang luas, dengan dosen yang kompeten serta dosen tamu dari berbagai bidang industri dengan konsep belajar “best practise sharing” dimana siswa dapat langsung belajar pada sumbernya.

Proses belajar mengajar disampaikan dengan bahasa Indonesia selama 2 tahun pertama, kemudian tahun berikutnya disampaikan dalam bahasa Inggris sehingga diharapkan siswa dapat menguasai bahasa Inggris baik tulisan dan lisan.

Pada tahun 2008 ini, Bakrie School of Management kembali membuka pendaftaran siswa baru. Tes gelombang pertama akan dilakukan pada tanggal 24 Februari 2008 dengan materi tes potensi akademik, matematika, dan bahasa inggris.

Bakrie School of Management sangat membuka kesempatan beasiswa scholarship bagi sekitar 335 mahasiswa baru. Beasiswa yang diberikan berupa: Bebas biaya kuliah sampai selesai (4 tahun) dan biaya TOEFL preparation hingga mencapai nilai 600 selama 4 semester.

Persyaratan Umum Beasiswa Bakrie:

1. WNI sehat jasmani dan rohani.
2. Lulus atau akan lulus SMA/Aliyah atau sederajatnya.
3. Peringkat 1 sampai 3 di masing-masing kelas.
4. Memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris dengan nilai toelf prediction 530 atau lebih.
5. Bersedia mengikuti test seleksi.

Persyaratan Administratif:

1. Mengisi formulir pendaftaran yang tersedia di sekolah masing-masing (Guru BP) atau di kampus BSM.
2. Melampirkan surat rekomendasi dari kepala sekolah.
3. Melampirkan fotokopi raport lengkap.
4. Melampirkan fotokopi KTP atau identitas diri lainnya.
5. Melampirkan fotokopi Akte Kelahiran.
6. Melampirkan pas foto ukuran 3×4 cm (3 lembar), berwarna latar belakang biru.

Prosedur Pengajuan:
Seluruh persyaratan di atas dimasukkan dalam satu amplop berukuran A4 berwarna coklat yang ditujukan ke alamat pengajuan dengan menuliskan “BEA SISWA” pada amplop dipojok kiri atas.
